Land of Spice was born in 2022, founded by Eric and Nay Mitchell. Eric's family roots reach across Grenada and the French Caribbean side of St. Martin, bringing two distinct island traditions into the heart of the brand.
That heritage came to life at home through Eric's mother, Ms. Audrey β a Caribbean woman through and through. Her cooking, hospitality and generations-deep approach to alkaline-inspired everyday wellness shaped the family table and the rituals around it.
What began as an idea around a family kitchen table eventually became something bigger. Land of Spice started in Ms. Audrey's living room, where a love for island culture, botanical traditions, delicious food and bringing people together became the foundation for the brand.
Eric and Nay also brought these wellness practices into their own everyday lives. When they heard the phrase βit runs in the family,β they chose to look at it differently: inherited patterns did not have to define what came next. They wanted change to begin with them, introducing alkaline-inspired wellness living through thoughtful food choices, botanical rituals and consistent daily habits.
Today, Land of Spice carries that same spirit forward: rooted in Caribbean culture, inspired by nature, and created to bring a little piece of the islands into everyday life.
Caribbean Culture
Caribbean carnival is more than a festival β it is a living expression of resilience, rhythm and identity. Across the islands, the streets come alive with music, masquerade and community.
In Grenada, the tradition of Jab Jab carries that energy forward. Dressed in black with chains, horns and oil, Jab Jab revelers move through the crowd to the pulse of steel pan and soca, honoring a spirit of freedom, defiance and joy that has defined Caribbean culture for generations.
That same spirit β bold, communal and unapologetically island β is woven into everything Land of Spice creates.
